My First Johanna Basford Cover - Ivy & the Inky Butterfly

Hi Everyone!  It has been a while since I posted but that has been because I have been super busy!  After Christmas, we went on vacation and since returning home we have been traveling and just plain busy!  I have recorded some videos but they need editing so hopefully, I will have them posted soon!

In the meantime, I just completed the cover of my Johanna Basford Ivy and the Inky Butterfly!  I have always LOVED coloring from the time I was a child!  Doodle Art Posters, coloring books, drawing my own images to color etc. and I'm so thankful to have found adult coloring books as it is the absolute best stress reliever!  I will be doing videos of coloring in the future but in the meantime, I wanted to share my first cover!

I colored it with my Tombow Dual Brush Pens and added some sparkle with Smooch metallic paint & glitters.  I will switch to my Prismacolor Pencils for the inside but the thickness of the cover allows for using the markers without marking the images on the reverse side.

Thanks for stopping by!

Have a SCRAPtastic day!

Ebony & Ivory Stamping

Hi Everyone!

If your like me, you have stamped with your white pigment ink onto dark/black cardstock with great expectations that disintegrated once the stamping was finished...blotchy, dark cardstock showing through, not white at all!  Well here is a little trick to get a nice white result! Watch the video then give it a try!

I used Close To My Heart White Daisy Pigment Ink: https://allabouthobbies.closetomyhear... Warning! keep Goo Gone away from your cutters!

Okay so my Fiskars Rotary Cutter, which I have had since early 2000's, was a bit sticky with adhesive because I'm bad and sometimes cut through products with exposed glue etc.

I decided to get out the Goo Gone and give my scissors, rulers, and cutter a good wipe down, so I laid them all out on my craft table, cutter first and so on, dampened a paper towel with Goo Gone, wiped the plastic 'finger protector' plastic with the paper towel, moved onto the next item etc. until all were 'sticky' free!  Awesome!  Now that the goo was gone, I grabbed a baby wipe and went back to the cutter at the beginning of the line, lifted the bar/plastic and the Goo Gone had completely disintegrated what used to be the white, orange & red markings on the deck!!!  The moment I wiped the deck all that paint came off 😢😢😢 My cutter is completely ruined because instead of straight red lines with orange & white background I now have white, orange and raspberry swirl ice cream!

Okay now that I have given the warning I'm going to crawl into bed, cry a little then order a new cutter 😫

Because she enjoyed it

I found several of these photos of my Mom at varying times with the crocheted and knitted animals she created.  It gave her great joy to make all of these creatures and even grated joy watching those who received her gifts, increase the amount of joy in there lives.  She was asked often why she would make the same ones many times over and doesn't she get bored but her answer was always 'I enjoy it and it makes me happy' and no truer words were spoken.  Miss you so much Mom!

Animal Kingdom elephants & hippos

The safari tour was awesome, we were able to see so many different animals, it felt like being on safari in Africa!  The baby elephant had the older ones wrapped around his finger, just like human babies do and the hippos ears were in constant motion otherwise you would never know they were there!  So special!
